The below is a pretty comprehensive list of companies headquartered in Seattle. While I’m happy to pay a discretionary sales tax to support the arts, I miss the days when companies making record annual profits and getting significant tax breaks can’t be bothered to be more generous in supporting the arts. Having a thriving community is good for business—and recruiting. Plus, it seems like the right thing to do.
