I thought I should add this about the excellent human doing the cartwheels... Her name is Sara and she tells me: "I'm the cheerleader you just took a picture of in the crosswalk. Some background on our squad, in case you’re curious: CHEER Seattle (www.cheerseattle.org) is the newest member of the Pride Cheerleading Association that started 35 years ago in San Francisco. We cheer at a variety of events to raise money for organizations that support health and wellness in the LGBT community– this year our beneficiary is Camp Ten Trees. We’ll be towards the front of the Pride Parade this year – right between the Color Guard and the Rainbow City Band. We’re clearly so excited for Pride weekend!"
I hate rainbows depicted by those harsh borderlines between the colors. Feels so segregated. Natural spectrums blend the colors wonderfully. Like Bono says, "All the colors will bleed into one." Actually Comte, blending all those colors might come close to the shade of Jager-vomit.
I was going to abstain, considering the dearth of correctly-spelled options. But considering how many surveyors are down here around Pioneer Square, recording exactly how many inches the Viaduct sank again today, I'm going to have to go with "Settle" after all.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Everyone just seattle down. Settle is one of the best sitties in the lower 47 (sorry, Florida). I moved here from Bushwick (it's in New York, ya'll) and I have never once felt like I've had to compromise or seattle in any way. Settle rocks!
I voted for the crosswalk full of crosses, because that way some Christian dumbass would be able to take credit for people walking (and driving, and late at night probably pissing) all over his most sacred symbol.
@23 "Solution"? What kind of problem is rainbow crosswalks solving?
I don't have a problem with the rainbows, I take issue with the bill. $100k+ so that we can have rainbow crosswalks in Cap Hill? Seriously?! Ed couldn't think of anything else to do with that money? What about our pot-holed streets or poorly-funded schools? Naw ... we need rainbow crosswalks. UGH.
ZOMG! GUYS, THINGS COST MONEY, DID YOU KNOW THAT? I HAD NO IDEA! UNTIL WE SOLVE EVERY PROBLEM EVER, WE CAN'T BE SPENDING MONEY ON OTHER THINGS I DON'T PERSONALLY APPROVE OF!
Now everyone is happy and gay!!!! Piece of crap spending money so foolishly!!! Oh but wait its not his!! Make Seattle affordable!!!! Great start!!! What about upkeep????
I like the sidewalks by the way.
I like the new crosswalks.
Only in Seattle do they pay $100,000 for something kids with chalk do in other places for free.
Go Seattle!
Only you would suggest a "solution" that would last all of about five minutes on those busy intersections...
