Oh FFS. Eating disorders are a mental health issue. Under extreme stress, people can lose their appetite and start to waste away. It happens in hospitals all the time. We are morally (and in theory, legally) obliged to provide adequate health care to incarcerated people. Even if some fascist commenters here are fans of extrajudicial punishment by medical neglect.

Physical damage to the temporal lobe, for example, can cause eating disorders. This is relevant because it is a form of extrajudicial punishment to deny medical treatment.
